UCF Alumni Board Names Partner Sara Bernard Chair-Elect

ORLANDO, Fla. [June 29, 2016] — Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced Orlando Partner Sara Bernard was named chair-elect of the University of Central Florida (UCF) Alumni Association Executive Board of Directors. Her previous roles on the board have included serving as treasurer and chair of the finance committee. She also has held a finance committee role with the UCF Foundation.

Bernard is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and co-chair of the Orlando real estate department. She has handled a wide range of transactions as counsel for developers, builders, institutional lenders, and public and private entities. Most notably, she has represented Tavistock Group for almost 10 years and has been instrumental in many of the largest projects in Central Florida, including Lake Nona Medical City.

In addition to her role with the UCF Alumni Association, Bernard is a past member of the board of directors of The Brain Foundation of Florida, Inc., and currently handles transactions for the nonprofit on a pro bono basis, helping the organization acquire residential homes throughout the State of Florida to establish permanent supportive housing for Veterans and those who suffer from mental illness.

Bernard has been recognized for her real estate practice by Chambers USA: A Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers and named a "Best Lawyer in America" in Real Estate Law for the past three years. She has also achieved AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating with Martindale-Hubbell, achieving the rating agency’s highest marks for both competency and ethics.
