DBR Names Broad and Cassel Partner Scott Knapp a 2016 Rising Star

FORT LAUDERDALE (May 20, 2016) — Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced Fort Lauderdale Partner Scott Knapp has been named a 2016 Rising Star by the Daily Business Review. The winners were honored at a ceremony May 19.

Rising Stars are South Florida’s most promising up-and-coming attorneys who have wielded influence in their practice areas throughout the region and state. These individuals are leaders in their field, having held key roles not only within their organizations but also the community.

Knapp has been an attorney with Broad and Cassel since 2010 and was named a partner in 2015. He is a member of firm's Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Groups. Concentrating his practice in complex civil matters, Knapp has litigated cases from their inception through verdict in both state and federal courts. He has represented multiple clients, including health care providers, medical device manufacturers, food distributors, pharmaceutical and dietary supplement companies, as well as mortgage lenders and financial institutions in class action claims and multi-district litigation.

Additionally, he has devoted his time and talents to Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi), serving on the Supreme Board of Governors and providing guidance to chapters located in Florida. He also continues to be recognized on a national level having been honored by Florida Legal Elite as an Up and Comer and Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for the past six years.

This recognition from the Daily Business Review is just the latest in a series of honors for Knapp. Earlier this year, he was recognized with the 2016 Sigmund Steinberg Award for Alumni Service from AEPi, an annual award that recognizes a brother for their many years of dedicated service. He also recently took on the reigns as president of the B’nai B’rith Justice Unit #5207 (BBJU). In 2015, he was recognized by the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association with the 2015 Paul May Professionalism Award, which honors those individuals who have served as a role model for the legal community throughout Broward County.
