Broad and Cassel’s Orlando Office Expands With New Attorneys

ORLANDO, Fla. - [Oct. 10, 2016] — Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced the addition of four new attorneys to the Orlando office: Jennings Brian Cooksey IV, Sarah Guo, John David Lind and Timothy Wombles.

Cooksey joins the Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Practice Group as an associate. A former U.S. Army First Lieutenant, Cooksey was a law clerk for Pastore & Dailey and Infinite Energy Inc. in Gainesville, among others, before joining Broad and Cassel. He holds a bachelor’s in international relations from Auburn University in Alabama and earned his juris doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Guo joins the Construction Law and Litigation Practice Group as an associate. Prior to joining the firm, she was an associate with Venable, LLP, in Baltimore, Md. While there, she represented and advised various clients ranging from financial institutions and pharmaceutical companies to start-up businesses and pro-bono clients seeking asylum. Admitted to practice in both Maryland and Florida, Guo holds a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta and earned her juris doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law. Additionally, she is fluent in Mandarin.

Lind joins the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group as an associate. He was previously an associate with Rosen Harwood, P.A., in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He holds a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Alabama and earned his juris doctor from Alabama’s School of Law. While there, he also earned a master of laws in business transactions and taxation.

Wombles joins the firm’s Health Law Practice Group as an associate. He previously served as a legal extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Illinois, and as an attorney fellow for Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s in business from Pensacola Christian College and a master’s in business administration from the University of West Florida. He also earned his juris doctor from Washington University School of Law, where he earned several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards.

News of the Orlando hires is the latest in a series of announcements tied to Broad and Cassel’s growth across the state. Recently, the firm announced the additions of Associate Gabriel Itskovich in Boca Raton; Associate Francisco Armada in Miami; Associates Heather Purdy, Lawrence Raab and Andrea Morgan in Orlando; and Former Circuit Court Judge Frank Sheffield and Associate Joshua Stratton in Tallahassee.
