Ms. Melissa N. VanSickle is a Partner in the Tallahassee office of Broad and Cassel. She is a member of the Firm's Real Estate Practice Group.
In addition to her roles with The Florida Bar, Ms. VanSickle is the membership chair of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court and a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class 29. Active within the community, she volunteers regularly with Justice Teaching and fosters shelter dogs through Last Hope Rescue.
Ms. VanSickle handles all areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions including the acquisition, sale and development of real property. She also provides general counsel services to her clients and regularly represents financial institutions for the closing and enforcement of all types of real estate related loans.
Ms. VanSickle is an Adjunct Professor at The Florida State University College of Law where she teaches Land Transfer.
She is a member of Leadership Tallahassee's Board of Governors and was elected as the Second Judicial Circuit Representative on The Florida Bar Board of Governors. She is the past president of the Tallahassee Bar Association and serves as Chair of the Second Judicial Circuit Professionalism Panel. Ms. VanSickle previously served on the Second Judicial Circuit Professionalism Panel and the Second Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
In 2011 Ms. VanSickle received the Tallahassee Bar Association Thomas M. Ervin Distinguished Young Lawyer Award. She was named among the "25 Women You Need to Know" by the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper in 2014 and designated among the "Up and Comers" by Florida Trend magazine's "Legal Elite" in 2011.
