Mr. Nathaniel Dutt is an Associate in the Orlando office of Broad and Cassel. He is a member of the Firm’s Affordable Housing and Tax Credit and Taxation Practice Groups.

  • Mr. Dutt works with developers who build multi-family housing for low-income families and seniors throughout the United States. His practice is focused upon U.S. federal income tax issues.
  • He focuses his taxation practice in the areas of partnerships, tax credits, financial instruments, and U.S. international tax (both inbound and outbound planning).
  • Mr. Dutt has previous experience assisting in both U.S. federal court litigation and transactional/business operations regarding U.S. federal securities and commodities laws. He is well-versed in securities and commodities legislation and compliance.
  • He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied economics, statistics, and finance. He earned both MBA and JD degrees from Nova Southeastern University, where he was a recipient of the Leo S. Goodwin Academic Honors Scholarship and served as the editor-in-chief of the ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law. Further, he also holds a Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he earned a book award for international tax planning.
  • Mr. Dutt is a frequent author, most recently penning "The Tax Puzzle of Preferred Stock: Some Minimal Guidance Could Be the Missing Piece" in the Florida Coastal Law Review to be published Summer 2014. He also authored "The Net Investment Income Tax in Relation to Partnership Income and Distributions" which was published in the Inside the Mind Series in Spring 2014, and "Current United States Credit Default Swap Regulatory Initiatives: A New World Standard or Just a Ploy?" in the ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law in Fall 2009.
Mr. Dutt is active in various professional and community organizations, including the Orlando Rotary Club.
