Nancy Stewig 

Of Counsel

Ms. Nancy J. Stewig is Of Counsel in the Tampa office of Broad and Cassel. She is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation, Labor and Employment and Appellate Practice Groups.

  • Ms. Stewig handles a variety of commercial litigation matters including representing corporate officers and businesses in securities litigation, such as business valuation claims after cash-out mergers or reverse stock splits, corporate control disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, breach of non-competition and other contract claims and general business litigation matters.
  • Ms. Stewig also has experience in litigation matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Federal Civil Rights Act, whistleblower and retaliation claims and state and local employment laws. She also has experience with employment related administrative matters, including proceedings before the EEOC and the FCHR.
  • Additionally, Ms. Stewig has extensive experience in defending and managing national and multi-district mass tort litigation while representing corporate entities. She has handled complex and products liability litigations on behalf of manufacturers of products such as diet drugs, childhood vaccine components, hip and knee orthopedic implants, custom orthotic devices, anti-adhesion devices, cardiac catheters and guidewires, laser assisted and endoscopic surgical devices, insulin pumps, intrathecal pain pumps, spinal cord stimulators and other prescription products. She has also served as litigation counsel for cases involving migraine medications, cardiac medications, irritable bowel syndrome medications, anti-viral influenza medications and over-the-counter medications. In addition, she has defended tobacco, asbestos, and toxic tort cases.
  • She has also represented health care providers in professional malpractice claims and regulatory actions related to dental procedures, implant placement, cosmetic procedures, adverse drug reactions, anesthesia administration and neurological injuries. In this capacity, she has counseled clients regarding record-keeping, standardizing practice procedures and protocols for dealing with adverse events.
