Mr. Michael K. Wilson is a Partner in the Orlando office of Broad and Cassel. He is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Construction Law and Litigation department and a member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group.

  • Mr. Wilson is a Certified Construction Lawyer, having practiced exclusively in construction law and litigation for more than 25 years. In the past years, he has been recognized as one of the leading construction law attorneys in Florida by Chambers USA: A Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers, a national law firm legal guide, and in 2009 - 2016, received the highest ranking possible for this publication. He holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a rating achieved by only 5 percent of attorneys and was named in Super Lawyers magazine as one of the "Top 100 Lawyers in the State" and "Top 50 Lawyers in North Florida" in 2010 and 2011.
  • He specializes in complex claims, representing primarily public and private owners, developers, and contractors and their sureties in the areas of project impact and delay claims, project defect claims and payment disputes among project participants.
  • Mr. Wilson has extensive trial experience, representing clients in state and federal courts, in arbitration as well as Federal Boards of Contract appeals.
  • Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiation, as well as project dispute resolution mechanisms such as dispute resolution boards aimed at preventing claims from reaching litigation and/or arbitration.
  • Mr. Wilson strives to further the business goals of his clients, using his drafting, negotiation and litigation skills. He is a member of the American Bar Association, where he serves on the Construction Litigation Section, the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, the Litigation Section, the Torts and Insurance Practice Section, and the Fidelity and Surety Section.
In 2005, he was selected by the President of The Florida Bar as one of nine construction lawyers to write the first examination for certification of lawyers in construction law.  Mr. Wilson has been selected for inclusion in the following honorary listings: 2007-2017 in Woodward and White's "Best Lawyers in America" for Construction Law; "Best Lawyers" of Central Florida in Orlando Magazine; eleven consecutive years as a "Florida Super Lawyer" in Construction Law by Super Lawyers magazine; Orlando Business Journal's "Best of the Bar"; and "Florida Legal Elite" in Florida Trend Magazine.
