Mr. Mark Barber is a Partner in the Tampa office of Broad and Cassel, and is an AV Preeminent®-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Barber represents a variety of clients in commercial transaction and litigation matters. He is a member of the Firm’s Commercial Litigation, Computer and Technology Law, Labor and Employment, and Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Groups, appearing in federal, state and arbitration proceedings on a regular basis.

  • Mr. Barber has handled commercial transaction and litigation matters in a variety of areas, including business-to-business sales and services, e-commerce and remote application licensing, intellectual properties, reseller and distribution arrangements, bid protest and procurement challenges, trade practice regulation, health care technology and operations, employment and non-compete matters, competitor disputes, real estate development disputes, corporate governance and shareholder rights, professional negligence, and commercial debt collection. He also has experience with various legislative, constitutional, and election law matters.
  • In the private sector, Mr. Barber has served clients in various industries and professions, such as energy, utilities, telecommunications, radio communications, transportation services, manufacturing, warehousing and fulfillment, PEO and employment leasing, finance and lending, real estate development, managed health care, physicians and physician practice groups, pharmacies, software development, charitable organizations, civil engineering, business brokering, motor vehicle sales, and property management. He has handled legal matters for a variety of public sector clients, both in the legislative and executive branches, as well as representation of regional transportation authorities, county government, school district and law enforcement organizations.
  • Mr. Barber's relative vast experience has led him to serve with the Firm in the role of outside general counsel for various organizations. These opportunities have allowed him to gain a working appreciation of the role of general counsel, especially in the context of businesses encountering a rapidly-changing regulatory environment.
Mr. Barber regularly volunteers his time as a board member or legal advisor to local community and charitable organizations that embrace issues of compassion and justice, and which exist to serve the under-resourced.
