Robert E. Sickles is the Managing Partner of the Tampa office of Broad and Cassel. He is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group and Co-Chair of the Consumer Financial Services department. Mr. Sickles is also a member of the Firm's Management Committee.

  • Mr. Sickles devotes his practice to complex litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. While he has focused his practice on the defense of individual and class action consumer financial and regulatory matters, he has also represented builders and developers in construction disputes and privately owned businesses in commercial disputes.
  • As part of his consumer finance practice, Mr. Sickles represents clients in all aspects of the automotive industry. He has served as counsel for more than 250 licensed motor vehicle dealerships in Florida alone. He also represents automotive dealers in Ohio and Georgia. Mr. Sickles' dealership clients range from large publicly traded corporations to small closely held family dealerships. He also serves the automotive industry as a whole by acting as the outside general counsel to the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association (FIADA).
  • Mr. Sickles' consumer finance practice has also afforded him the opportunity to represent national banks and other lenders in numerous actions, including disputes relating to escrow practices of mortgage lenders, unfair lending practices and priority of lien issues. He also represents finance companies and lenders affiliated with the automotive industry and a substantial number of debt buyers and collection agencies.
  • Mr. Sickles is a frequent writer and speaker on consumer finance issues and he is a regular presenter at automotive industry events.
Mr. Sickles is an active member of various professional and community organizations.
